Hip joint lie of two major elements of skeletal system – femoral head ( upper part of the leg ) and acetabulum of the pelvis . Hip articulatio is a testicle and socket join , chunk is fountainhead of thighbone and socket is acetabulum a part of pelvis . A total hip permutation is done to replace head of femur bone and qualify socket to hold the head of femur os . end is to attain pain relief and better function of hip articulation . operation is call full rose hip replacement . Surgery call for replacement of the femoral head and cotyloid cavity with contrived component called prosthetic machine . Femoral head is replaced with metal stem consist of distal clump like structure and disease acetabulum is reconstructed with hollow metallic element prosthetic gadget . Before the surgery , patient role will receive endovenous fluid and preventative antibiotics . Surgery is performed under oecumenical or spinal anesthesia .
